About Our Staff

Q. Are your CareKnights nurses or doctors?

No. They are Medical Chaperones – graduates trained in hospital navigation, patient advocacy, basic medical literacy, and soft skills. They do not administer injections, prescribe medicines, or provide nursing care. If you need a trained nurse, we can refer you to trusted partner agencies. 

Every CareKnight undergoes: 

  • Police background verification 
  • Academic credential checks 
  • In-person interview with our medical founders 
  • Training in basic life support (BLS), patient privacy laws, and hospital etiquette 
  • Quarterly performance evaluations 

Yes. For regular monthly appointments (e.g., dialysis, chemotherapy follow-ups), we encourage continuity. Let us know your preference during booking.

Service Logistics

Q: What if the doctor runs 2 hours late (classic problem)?

Our standard service includes up to 6 hours for consultations and 12 hours for daycare. If delays exceed this, we charge a nominal ₹200/hour overtime to compensate our staff fairly. We never abandon a patient mid – visit. 

Yes, but through a Pre-Paid Float System for safety: 

  1. You transfer ₹3,000 – ₹5,000 to our verified company account before the visit. 
  2. We use this float for pharmacy bills, cab charges, and diagnostic tests. 
  3. Immediately after the visit, we refund the exact unused balance with full receipt photos via the CareKnight Report. 

This eliminates cash – handling risks and ensures complete transparency.

Currently: South Kolkata, Central Kolkata, Salt Lake, New Town, and select areas of North Kolkata. Howrah and outstation requests attract a distance surcharge. Contact us for a quote. 

  • 24+ hours notice: Full refund or reschedule, no charge. 
  • Less than 24 hours: 50% cancellation fee (staff has already been assigned and briefed).

For NRI Families (USA, UK, Gulf, Australia And Rest of The World)

Q: How do I coordinate from abroad with the time difference?
  • WhatsApp is our primary channel: We send real – time updates regardless of your time zone. 
  • Booking in advance: Schedule visits via WhatsApp 48 – 72 hours ahead; our coordinator responds within working hours of the office. 
  • Emergency situations: For urgent same – day needs. 

Yes. We accept: 

  • UPI and Indian bank transfers (preferred) 
  • International wire transfers (SWIFT) for large or recurring packages 

Yes. For NRI families subscribed to our packages, we provide: 

  • Monthly health summary consolidating all visits, medicine adherence, doctor feedback 
  • Emergency contact protocol

Privacy & Safety

Q: How do you ensure patient privacy?
  • All staff sign confidentiality agreements aligned with medical privacy standards. 
  • Audio recordings and photos are taken only with explicit patient/family consent. 
  • Medical information is never shared with third parties. 
  • Staff do not enter doctors’ chamber,  bedrooms or private areas without permission. 
  • Reports are sent only to the registered family contact, via secure WhatsApp/email. 
  • Medical emergency: Our CareKnights are BLS – certified. They will immediately call 108 (ambulance) to the nearest Emergency Room and notify you. 
  • Service issue: Contact our Medical Coordinator instantly. We resolve or escalate within 48 hours. 
  • Complaint process: Formal complaints are logged, investigated, and responded to within 48 hours.

Q: Do you work with hospitals or doctors directly?

We are building partnerships with select hospitals and specialist clinics in Kolkata for: 

  • Streamlined admission processes 
  • Priority appointment slots for CareKnight-accompanied patients 
  • Post-discharge follow – up coordination

Currently, no Indian health insurance policies cover medical chaperone services. However, we provide detailed invoices that you can submit for reimbursement under flexible spending accounts (FSA) or health savings accounts (HSA) if you’re based in the USA.
